About
Sandpipers is a three bed-roomed warm and welcoming home in Voëlklip, Hermanus.
An eclectic interior and an interesting array of art and books, allow for a modern and traditional blend of the everyday to create a warm and relaxed feeling throughout.
Situated in a security complex in a tranquil and safe neighbourhood and within walking distance to any of Hermanus’s five famous beaches – Grotto, Voelklip, Kammabaai, Langbaai and Kwaaiwater – ideal for whale-watching during the whale season from June till end of September.
Close proximity to Cape Town and Cape Town International Airport, as well the many other tourist attractions in and around the Overberg – including Cape Agulhas and the most southern tip of Africa, makes Hermanus one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the country.
There are three bedrooms which sleeps 4 guests comfortably. Downstairs two bedrooms – with a queen bed each and a shower-room to share – separate kitchen and living- and dining-room areas. The well-equipped kitchen leads out onto a private patio at the back and is fitted with a dishwasher, washing-machine, coffee- and ice-machines, a microwave, four-plate electric stove and oven and a double-door fridge/freezer.
The lounge and dining area has ample comfortable seating, as well an eight seater-table which makes for long, leisurely suppers in front of a big fire-place on cold winter nights. Tall French doors open onto a lovely enclosed entertainment area/stoep with access to a small walled private garden with a lily-pond and beautiful mountain views.
The main bedroom is upstairs (king-size bed, full en-suite bathroom with bath and shower) opens on to a reading-room/library and balcony with lovely mountain views.
The house is ideally positioned for cycling, mountain-biking, bird-watching, close to cliff paths leading along the sea into town, the Fernkloof Nature Reserve and two golf courses. A visit to any of the more that 20 wine- estates for wine-tasting and gourmet lunches in the Hemel and Aarde Valley is mandatory!
Sandpipers further offers guests safe onsite parking for 2 vehicles, a full alarm system with outside beams and flood lights, as well as WiFi, and DSTV.
To Make your stay extra special
The property is in a small secure complex with a fully equipped kitchen, weber braai, satellite TV, plus high-speed internet and WiFi.
Although having a car available to make the most of your stay is preferable, we are happy to arrange airport transfers if needed; please request this for a price reference.
A cleaning service is available. Please indicate your requested frequency that we can supply you with the associated cost.
Lastly, to start your holiday on the right note, we can arrange an initial food and drink order to be ready in the fridge when you arrive. Costs will depend on your requirements.

We have a minimum stay requirement of a 3-night stay during the Winter, Spring and Summer seasons and a 7-night stay minimum in peak season.

Our Terms & Conditions
- There are to be, at most, the arranged number of guests in the house. No children under the age of 12.
- The house may only be occupied by the renter and pre-approved guests.
- The guest list needs to be completed in advance on all bookings.
- Arrival and Departure times are to be adhered to unless with prior arrangement.
- Children must be under parental supervision.
- No pets allowed.
- Disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated.
- No smoking or vaping in the house ever.
- No events can be hosted, big or small; if you breach this, your stay will terminate immediately.
- Call-out and repair fees are charged to the guest’s account if the appliances, furniture or furnishings are damaged or broken. Please let us know if anything is damaged.
- Any lost keys are charged at R2 000,00 per incident.
- All music is to be turned down by 22H00 (10 pm)
- At no time can guests deny staff access to the house.
- Doors must be closed and locked at night for insurance to be valid in case of any incident. We do not insure guests property.
- The owners reserve the right to terminate any stay if conditions are unmet.
- Water and other recourses are to be mindfully utilised.
